The following Marine Radio Operator Certificates of Competency  are  currently issued by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications   Regulation:

Long Range Certificate of Competency(LRC).
Short Range Certificate of Competency (SRC).
Restricted Certificate of Competency in Radiotelephony(VHF Only)

 The certificates above  are requirements for  Radio  Operators in the Merchant Marine  in order to comply with SOLAS  1974 as amended.  These certificate  requirements also  apply  for Radio  Operators on Class 1 fishing vessels which are required to comply with  EU  Council Directive 97/70/EC of 11 December 1997.
