IRISH SAILING CHAMPIONS' CUP POSTPONED

The Irish Sailing Champions’ Cup, due to begin today at the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club in Co. Down, has been postponed for today due to high winds. The event, which will feature the cream of Irish sailing, will reconvene tomorrow, Sunday 6 October where the scheduled races for both days will take place.

Irish Sailing’s Racing Manager, Stephen O’Shaughnessy said, “With the forecast predicting gusts of over 35 knots and no visibility of it improving before this evening, we have taken the safest course of action. It’s disappointing we know, but the hope is to stage the full series tomorrow.”

The race management team are planning, with agreement from the weather, to be on the water at 9:30am tomorrow. Irish Sailing will provide any further updates through our website and social media channels.
