World Sailing Open Team Racing World Championships 2025
World Sailing, has selected the venue for the 2025 World Sailing Open Team Racing World Championships, to be raced in an exciting new keelboat 2x2 format.
David Graham, World Sailing CEO, said, “We are delighted to reintroduce the World Sailing Open Team Racing Championships in 2025 in an exciting new format that offers opportunities to grow the sport. The rise of team racing events around the world have shown the desire for more varied competitions and the appetite for sailing. With the new keelboat 2×2 format, we hope to attract many more sailors of all ages and MNA’s to this exciting discipline of sailing’’.
Any expressions of interest from Irish Team Racing Sailors should be made to The Irish Team Racing Association (ITRA), before 1700 on Thursday 31st October coming. Please email your interest to itra.sailing@gmail.com outlining why you and your team would like to be considered. Please also note this is a hard deadline as there are tight timelines around the process.
Finally, it is important to note that World Sailing have a specific web page where Team Racing teams from all over the world log their detail of events attended and results achieved. It is an important step to build up a profile for any team racing team who may wish to seek a ranking into the future for events on the broader global stage.
