Last weekend, Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club played host to the first Irish Sailing Race Official course of the year. The module delivered was the Local Race Officer course and the attendees comprised of a great cross section from a number of clubs, including Poolbeg Y&BC, Clontarf YC, The Royal St. George YC & Lough Derg YC.
National Race Oficer, Scorie Walls from Howth YC and Sutton Dinghy Club, delivered the module and with a wealth of knowledge and experience in race management, gave a very insightful course.
With an ever increasing focus on safe & effective race management in the sport of sailing, it is great to see volunteers taking the time to complete the relevant race officials modules which in turn will ensure greater conistency across all events at every level.
