IRISH SAILING AGM NOTICE


Dear Members, 

The Irish Sailing AGM will take place in Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club, Dublin on Thursday 27th March 2025 at 1900hrs and on MS Teams through this LINK.

Appointment of President
Irish Sailing President John Twomey’s term will come to an end and the Board wishes to nominate Sue Concannon (Killaloe Sailing Club) for President. Sue has served five years on the Board, is former Treasurer and current Secretary of Irish Sailing. 

Appointment of Directors
David Love (Director & Chair Racing & Classes Policy Group) and Deirdre Tingle (Director & Treasurer), both of Royal Cork Yacht Club, were co-opted to the Board in November 2024 and are nominated by the Board for re-election at the AGM.

The Board nominates Nigel Moss (Galway Bay Sailing Club) as Director and Chair of the Cruising & Recreation Policy Group on which he currently serves as a member.

The Board also nominates Valda Boardman (Royal Irish Yacht Club) as Director and Chair of the Communications Policy Group, on which she has served as a member for several years.

The Board wishes to thank the outgoing President John Twomey (Kinsale Yacht Club) and Board members Andrew Bradley (Royal Irish Yacht Club), Vera Quinlan (Galway Bay Sailing Club) and Katie Dwyer (Sutton Dinghy Club and Howth Yacht Club) for their valuable contributions throughout their terms and wish them the best in future endeavours. 

Change of Personal/Individual Member Subscription fees
The Board proposes a change to personal/individual member subscription fees.  As our Personal/Individual Member Subscription fees have not changed since 2009, the board propose a motion to change the fee from €46 to €65.

The Board is proposing no change to the Category 1 Club Affiliation fees and will outline some initial work by a Pricing Working Group on potential future member pricing.

Proceedings and Additional Information
The nominations and motions will be discussed at the AGM and, as set out by our constitution, put to a vote to our members.
