Finn Lynch Claims Win at Mallorca Sailing Centre Regatta
Finn Lynch has secured an early win in the 2025 racing calendar at the Mallorca Sailing Centre Regatta in Palma de Mallorca, marking a strong start to his racing season and his LA 2028 campaign. This event serves as the warm-up regatta for the renowned Princess Sofia Regatta, which will take place from March 28th to April 5th.
Lynch delivered low scores across four races to secure the top spot on the podium, setting a strong tone for the upcoming Princess Sofia Regatta. His teammate, Ewan McMahon, also impressed in the Men's ILCA 7 fleet, finishing 5th overall, while his sister, Eve McMahon, claimed 7th place in the Women's ILCA 6 fleet.
Beyond his achievements on the water, Lynch has recently been nominated for Movember’s Mo Awards under the ‘Move Award’ category. This recognition celebrates his charity cycle campaign, where he cycled the full length of Ireland from Mizen Head to Malin Head and back again. His efforts have highlighted his commitment to both his sport and personal ventures of which he is passionate about.
"After the highs and lows of the Olympics, I gained a deeper appreciation for the access I’ve had to psychologists from a young age through Irish Sailing. I know I’m lucky to have this support—something many people may not have the funds or opportunity to access. Because of this, I wanted to cycle for Movember to raise awareness and funds."
