ICRA AND RACING SEMINARS

ICRA Wrap Up Grassroots Cruiser Racing Seminars

The fourth and final regional seminar, jointly organised by the Irish Cruiser Racing Association (ICRA) and Irish Sailing, took place in County Clare during the first week in April.

This seminar attracted attendees from many clubs involved in cruiser racing on the West Coast of Ireland, where the objective of the evening was to present, discuss and gather all ideas to help drive greater participation in cruiser racing. With representatives from Mayo SC, Galway Bay SC, The Western YC , Foynes YC & Sligo YC, the content was engaging as was the discussion which highlighted the many positive initiatives that are taking place to drive greater activity.

ICRA will soon publish a guide with ideas on Increasing Grassroots Participation on their website (Home - ICRA - Irish Cruiser Racing Association), which can be used as a solid starting point for any club interested in using this very helpful tool. In addition, should any club have any specific queries or suggestions around cruiser racing, Please contact Brian Raftery who looks after ICRA Cruiser Development or Stephen O Shaughnessy, Racing Manager, Irish Sailing.
