OVERVIEW:

Irish Sailing is the national governing body for sailing, powerboating and windsurfing in Ireland. Our aim is to develop, support and promote sailing in Ireland.

Irish Sailing is looking for a social media intern on a short-term contract to grow our social media channels and attract newcomers to our sports. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this person will work as part of Irish Sailing’s Communications Team to deliver the communications strategy with particular focus on the social media channels.

We are looking for someone with a background in marketing and/or communications with a passionate interest in social media; someone who understands the sailing community and the importance of our internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, develop and promote Irish Sailing social media channels across Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Youtube
  • Grow Irish Sailing’s social media audiences to clear and agreed targets
  • To ensure a steady flow of content for Irish Sailing’s social channels
  • To be able to demonstrate effective communications through the use of digital marketing metrics
  • To demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks if needed

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A third level degree qualification (or working towards one) and/or relevant business experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aspects of this role will require travel and working outside of normal office hours

TERMS

  • Paid temporary Contract, Part Time (9 months)
  • 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (but flexibility required when sailing events are on as weekend work will be expected)
  • Remote working/working from home until restrictions are lifted
